On the 2nd of October 2020, Health Innovation Hub Ireland held a webinar entitled “Public Procurement for Start-ups and SMEs”. This was the fourth in the series of HIHI webinars. This month we welcomed Anna- Marie Curran, Partner and Head of the Procurement Law team in A&L Goodbody and Paul Maguire, SBIR manager, Enterprise Ireland.

Throughout the webinar, Anna-Marie discussed European Union (EU) Procurement Opportunities for Start-ups and SMEs. Anna-Marie discussed the basic procurement rules, procurement in a pandemic and proactive EU measures.

Paul spoke about the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), a pre commercial procurement initiative that is administered by Enterprise Ireland.  This initiative aims to drive innovation across all sections of the Irish Public Sector via robust engagement with technology rich companies and organisations.
